Natalie Clift

Registered Hand Therapist & Neuro Physiotherapist

Natalie brings a significant level of expertise to our clinic as one of the few Registered Hand Therapists in the region.

Registering as a hand therapist required post-graduate university training and over 1,800 hours of supervised clinical practice in the area. This training provides her with an advanced ability to diagnose and treat conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow.

In addition to her work in hand therapy, Natalie has strong clinical experience in Neuro Physiotherapy, providing care for vestibular conditions and concussion management. She takes a holistic approach to treatment, frequently integrating her certification in advanced Dry Needling to manage related neck, shoulder, and headache pain for comprehensive patient recovery.

Why a Registered Hand Therapist is Vital for Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Injuries

Why a Registered Hand Therapist is Vital for Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Injuries

Getting the right care for a hand or wrist injury makes all the difference. Natalie at Hand Therapy Rolleston is a Registered Hand Therapist with postgraduate qualifications that go far beyond standard training.

A Registered Hand Therapist must be a qualified physiotherapist (or OT) who has completed years of extra study focused only on the complex structures of the hand wrist and elbow. This advanced knowledge leads to a more accurate diagnosis and a better treatment plan.

A key part of this training is the skills to creating custom-molded splints and braces. The therapist shapes the material directly to you for a perfect fit. This provides the exact support and protection your injury needs to heal properly something an off-the-shelf brace simply can't do.

Because the clinic is an ACC accredited hand therapy provider it can access specific funding for these services. This means when a custom splint is needed for recovery ACC can cover the cost. This funding is not available to standard physiotherapy clinics so you would likely have to pay for a custom splint yourself there.
